Zeppel på Stenbräcka
Zeppel creates a space of intense experience where art, movement, technology and nature intersect. Set on the island of Tjurkö, the project invites audiences to take part in a shared ritual of encounter, risk and transformation.
Epigraph The festival as an initiation platform. The human being as the performer of their own transformation. Technology as a partner of nature. War as the background of reality. The island as a ritual territory. From death-defiance to creative force Tjurkö at the heart of the World Heritage A CALL to all residents of Tjurkö! Forget everything you thought you knew about the Karlskrona World Heritage Festival. This year it is not something happening “over there.” This year we step out together — man-ur-huse — and place Tjurkö as a bold needle at the very center of the festival’s map of experiences. Prepare for an explosion of impressions. From deeply moving artistic practices to a wild röj of strange lawnmowers and remarkably competent machines that create a noticeably peculiar joy. And suddenly — technical off-road tricks that will make your jaw drop. We ask directly: do you dare to boo? Because then the madman at the wheel will raise the stakes and perform death-defying acts never before seen here. An experience where defiance of death grips the audience more strongly than most can endure. We keep our fingers crossed that he survives. Do you dare to come — or do you dare to stay at home? Yet in the midst of the roar there is another pulse. One that makes us listen and reflect. Participants arrive from different parts of the world. Some come directly from a burning war in Ukraine. They do not come to scream or to cry. They come to create. Together with Tjurkö. Together with Karlskrona. Zeppel Do not try to understand what this is. Understand only that you are doing this for yourself — to see further. Feel a total closeness to the beginning of your own being. Choose who you want to be. Create your avatar. Create a new version of yourself. Art, technology, nature and people meet here. A struggle — not against nature, but with it. Perhaps you will feel a little afraid. Perhaps you will descend into the stone quarry. Perhaps you will allow something old to be buried there. And then you will dance all night. Choose both — but do not miss everything else that could not be described in just one night.
