Material: The sculpture is constructed from painted wooden modules and assembled found-object elements. Bright synthetic colors, graphic surfaces and geometric volumes create a tactile three-dimensional pixel structure that refers both to children’s construction toys and digital visual systems. Object: The work presents a stylized seated female figure composed of cubic and cylindrical forms. The head is built from alphabet blocks forming a coded facial structure, while exaggerated conical breasts and simplified limbs introduce a playful distortion of anatomy. The figure resembles a toy, a performer and a symbolic character at the same time, balancing between innocence and theatrical self-presentation. Concept: Slackening Peppi refers to the iconic literary character Pippi Longstocking created by Astrid Lindgren. Reimagined as an adult, this figure embodies the transformation of childhood imagination into contemporary identity. The pixel-like modular body suggests that personality is assembled from cultural memories, media images and social roles. Within the project “KIN,” the sculpture represents a fictional relative — a member of an expanded symbolic family where well-known characters evolve alongside us. The humorous DJ-like presence and exaggerated physical features reflect autonomy, performativity and the freedom to redefine oneself beyond traditional narratives. The work explores how cultural archetypes grow older with their audience, shifting from naïve rebellion to conscious self-construction in a mediated world.
