Goose (Pixel Goose)
Modern ceramic tile, historical Hugo Gehlin ceramics (c. 1948) The work Goose is part of the ongoing project “Pixel, Memory and Mosaic.” Constructed from small square wooden and ceramic elements, the figure is built through a pixel-like structure that translates digital visual logic into a tactile, physical form. The goose — a familiar rural and cultural symbol — becomes a carrier of memory and migration narratives. Fragmented yet unified, the composition reflects the way identity and experience are assembled from diverse and sometimes accidental parts. By combining handcrafted materials with the aesthetics of low-resolution digital imagery, the artist explores the tension between tradition and contemporary perception. The work emphasizes rhythm, modularity and movement, suggesting both playfulness and quiet resilience. Within the broader project, the piece functions as a visual metaphor for transformation and continuity, where personal history, collective memory and material experimentation intersect.
