Devouring World
Material: The work is executed in acrylic on canvas using saturated contrasting pigments and expressive graphic contouring. Dense opaque layers interact with fluid painterly passages, creating a dynamic surface that emphasizes both physical gesture and emotional intensity. Object: The composition presents a fragmented human-like figure immersed in a turbulent environment of vivid green organic matter. The patterned dark body appears partially engulfed by a flowing mass resembling vegetation, liquid energy or an unstable landscape. Behind the figure, explosive fields of yellow, pink, violet and red create a dramatic spatial tension, suggesting both illumination and threat. Concept: Devouring World functions as an allegory of dark forces attempting to stop the light. The work reflects the contemporary reality of war, particularly Russian attacks on Ukrainian power infrastructure and energy systems. The surrounding mass symbolizes destructive pressure and the attempt to consume vitality, resistance and hope. At the same time, the intense chromatic contrasts and dynamic composition convey persistence and inner strength. The painting becomes a visual statement of defiance — despite violence, destruction and darkness, light must prevail.
