Dancer K9
Painted wooden modules, assembled found objects. Part of the "KIN" project, this sculpture represents a fictional relative in an expanded symbolic family. Constructed from painted wooden modules in bright synthetic colors, the tactile, three-dimensional pixel structure references both children’s construction toys and digital visual systems. The work presents a stylized humanoid figure caught in a dynamic, balancing pose. Composed of cubic and cylindrical forms, with exaggerated googly eyes and simplified limbs, the figure leans and dances, creating a sense of movement and precarious balance next to a natural stone. This modular body suggests that contemporary identity is actively assembled from cultural memories, media images, and social roles. The humorous, dynamic presence of the Dancer reflects autonomy, performativity, and the freedom to redefine oneself beyond traditional narratives, capturing the energy of constant physical motion in a mediated world.
