Boy on a Scooter
Painted wooden modules, assembled found objects. Part of the "KIN" project, this sculpture represents a fictional relative in an expanded symbolic family. Constructed from painted wooden modules in bright synthetic colors, the tactile, three-dimensional pixel structure references both children’s construction toys and digital visual systems. The work presents a stylized figure positioned in a state of gliding or riding, composed of geometric blocks and wheeled elements. Reimagining the archetype of the restless youth, the simplistic limbs and playful posture introduce a humorous distortion of anatomy. This modular body suggests that personality and identity are actively assembled from cultural memories, media images, and social roles. Within the symbolic family, the Boy on a Scooter embodies the relentless forward momentum of childhood imagination, reflecting autonomy, performativity, and the persistence of youthful rebellion in a conscious, adult world.
